Cathy's work displays energy of movement and freedom of expression. These mixed media abstracts depict the geometric shapes and inherent patterns of architecture. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and changing urban environments, her subjects are the buildings of her home city of Manchester, London, Milton Keynes and most recently the newer Oxford Colleges.

Her style grew while experimenting with texture and controlling liquid ink by blowing it with a straw. Masking linear patterns provide structure and allow a deeper exploration of abstract concepts and expressive application of paint.

Cathy is a self-taught artist, having left a career in Occupational therapy for Art in 2008. She has since participated in solo and group exhibitions at Linacre College, Oxford, Stowe House in Buckinghamshire and in France and Norway.

Her previous experiences include: Working with Tate Modern in September 2011 as part of a painting based performance piece; Exhibiting and demonstrating at John Lewis; Live drawing for Force India F1 at the British Grand Prix; Residency at Fringe MK.

Publicity Officer for Buckingham Art for All from 2010-2012. Cathy has been involved in the planning numerous local exhibitions.
