I first exhibited my work at the Nottingham Castle Open Exhibition in 1973. Much of my early work came from visits to France, in particular The Côte d’Azure and the Alps Maritime. I found in that part of France, the colour, light, the old towns and their buildings were a great source of subject matter for me. I usually make on the spot sketches, which I then bring home and work up into paintings in the studio. I have also found inspiration throughout Europe, most recently in Sicily.  Of course I am fortunate to have Oxford with its dreaming spires on my doorstep as well. For me though, my greatest interest during my sketching trips has always been in old buildings, their architecture and the story they tell.

My work has been shown in Galleries in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Pembrokeshire and Suffolk. I have works in private collections in France, Canada, America and Australia.
