After a career in lettering, typography and retouching, Ray began to paint in watercolour for his own pleasure in 1995 and was persuaded to hold a one-man exhibition at the Museum of Oxford in 1997. His success has led to many more exhibitions, commissions and his work appearing in personal collections worldwide.
As well as architecture, Ray also paints landscapes and railway memorabilia.
Ray is an active member of Oxford Art Society and has exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy.
