Rod grew up in Warwickshire and began his artistic career at the East Warwickshire College.  He later attended the West of England College of Art where he studied Graphic Design and Illustration. Rod then set up his own design company in Oxford at the age of 24.

In 2010 Rod departed the graphics industry to become a full time painter based at his home and studio in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

Inspiration for his work comes from Rod’s passion for architecture, landscape and the elements, “What interests me most is trying to create a mood of time and place rather than representational studies”.

Rod currently works in Watercolour and Ink, painting from memory or from his own photographs.
